VALLE CRUCIS, NC – On Saturday, September 6, all Mast General Stores hosted local organizations that play important roles in our communities. The stores also asked guests to roundUP their purchases to the next dollar to make their own donation of support. At the end of the day, Mast Store made a donation of 10% of the day’s sales to its partners.
“It is a great opportunity for our partners on Friends Day to share their mission with our guests,” said Lisa Cooper, president of Mast Store. “We want to not only support our partners monetarily but also raise awareness of opportunities for residents, and even visitors, to give their time, talent, and funds to support them, too.”
This year’s Friends Day, and the week’s worth of roundingUP, garnered a total of $27,383.84, which includes the store’s percentage of sales and guests’ roundUPs.
“With our guests’ help, we are making an impact with these organizations and in the local area,” continued Cooper.
Checks are being processed to go to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, Gateway Nature Preserve, Friends of the Smokies, Pisgah Conservancy, Friends of the Reedy River, the Palmetto Trail, and the Friends of the Blue Ridge.
Friends Day started in 2008. Mast Store has celebrated and supported these organizations' efforts because they are an important part of what makes our hometowns special for residents and more welcoming for visitors.
